PAPER PUBLISHED

Our paper describing a development of a new co-culture model of small intestine organoids and MSCs to study the regenerative properties of MSCs on chemotherapy-induced damage in intestine was jsut published in the Stem Cell Research and Therapy.

It was again a pleasure to participate in annual NLSEV conference, this time in Rotterdam. As usual the meeting was full of lively discussions and exchange of ideas.
NEW PAPER IS OUT

The paper were we demonstrate that treatment with MSCs may have unwanted proinflammatory effect in metabolic OA. Here we also show that for this type of OA, MSC-derived EVs might potentially be a better therapeutic option.
This work was a great collaborative effort with the labs of Harrie Weinans and Niels Eijkelkamp. Thank you all for your efforts and congratulations to the first author Kelly Warmink!

Magdalena gave a talk on the new co-culture model of MSC and intestinal organoids we have recently generated. Using this model it is possible to study the molecular mechanism of MSC-mediated regeneration of intestinal epithelium after chemotherapy-mediated damage.

This review is a result of a fruitful collaboration with Tina Vermonden and Olivier de Jong labs. We discuss the current status and the future perspective on the use of MSC-derived extracellular vesicles as a therapeutic in cartilage regeneration.

Lorenowicz lab has moved from Regenerative Medicine Center in Utrecht to Biomedical Primate Research Center in Rijswijk, where Magdalena became a head of a new department of Advanced In vitro Model Systems (AIMS). We are excited about the new opportunities this change will bring.
VIVIAN HAS GRADUATED!

On 16th of December Vivian Hegeman has received her Master of Science diploma. Magdalena recorded a video with a laudation for Vivian, as unfortunately it was still not possible to do it in person. Congratulations Vivian! We are looking forward to when our paths will cross again!

MAGDALENA JOINS EDITORIAL BOARD OF EVCNA

Magdalena accepted an invitation to join the Editorial Board of newly established journal of Extracellular Vesicles and Circulating Nucleic Acids. EVCNA provides an online platform for the sharing of research data, new methodology, reviews and commentaries in the areas of extracellular vesicles and circulating nucleic acids and their therapeutic use.
DORIAN HAS GRADUATED!

Professor Edit Buzas from Semmelweis University, Budapest has visited the lab. She gave an overview of her work on the extracellular vesicles within the regenerative medicine seminar series. Prof. Buzas also gave an interactive masterclass on recent developments in EV field.

Magdalena has visited Belgrade to present our recent data on role of MSC-EV in cartilage regeneration on the Fifth Symposium of regenerative medicine “Stem cells – a vision beyond borders”, Belgrade, Serbia.
